Release

0.8.7

Folders stay synchronized, load smoothly, and repair their own thumbnail caches, with faster navigation and a redesigned media player.

0.8.7July 17, 2026Beta

Highlights

  • Files added, changed, moved, or removed in watched folders now appear promptly without a manual rescan, and watcher failures recover automatically.
  • Folders now verify their thumbnail caches and repair missing, stale, or corrupted entries in the background while preserving the last good view for disconnected drives.
  • Folder changes keep the previous grid visible until the next one is ready, then reveal a color mosaic that sharpens into thumbnails while the rest of the folder continues loading.

Improved

  • Folder clicks respond immediately, rapid navigation no longer lets stale loads reclaim the view, and returning to a folder restores its scroll position.
  • now use the same expandable sidebar tree as project folders, including nested folders, filtering, navigation, and active-branch reveal.
  • Dropped and watcher-discovered files reserve their grid positions immediately, while rescans begin without an extra speed prompt and report incremental progress.
  • The video and audio player has consistent controls, hover-time feedback on the timeline, clearer slider interaction, stable playback-speed controls, and reliable unmute recovery.
  • Dragging files from the grid onto a sidebar folder now performs a real move with clear destination feedback.
  • The startup mascot is truly transparent, and Atlas is responsive as soon as the main window replaces it.

Fixed

  • Fixed video imports stalling the file worker and leaving folder counts temporarily wrong.
  • Fixed thumbnails displaying pixels from another file, loose files blinking or staying blank, and incomplete folders waiting for an Alt+Tab before painting.
  • Fixed long background work freezing folder navigation for the rest of the session, and closed the related resource-exhaustion failure class.
  • Fixed right-click submenus opening away from their trigger, header menus losing clicks over the title bar, and menus staying open after an outside click.
  • Google Lens, Yandex, and TinEye reverse-image search reach results again, with reload controls for recovering an embedded search page.
